Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

  • We believe that the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are inspired by God and inerrant in the original writing and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life
  • We believe in one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, perfectly equal in essence.
  • We believe in God’s direct creation of the universe without the use of pre-existent material and apart from any process of evolution whatsoever, according to the Genesis account.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of Mary, a Virgin (at that time), and is true God and true man.
  • We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of Jesus Christ, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present life there as High Priest and Advocate.
  • We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that the Bible is the complete, inerrant and inspired word of God and that it is all-sufficient for the purpose God intended – 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:3.
  • We believe that Jesus built only one church and that His church is not denominational in nature. Christian fellowship, therefore, is limited to those in the Church of Christ who are walking in the light – Romans 16:16; Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:4; Acts 2:47; 1 John 1:7.
  • We believe that baptism is a burial in water unto the remission of sins, and is, therefore, necessary for salvation – Romans 6:4; Acts 2:38; 1 Peter 3:21.
  • We believe that the Lord’s Supper is to be observed by Christians on the first day of every week and only on the first day till the second coming of Jesus Christ – Acts 20:7.
  • We believe that singing in worship services to God is to be done without the addition of mechanical instruments of music and clapping of hands or making any other sounds except vocal singing (Because there is no mention of instruments or clapping of hands used when singing in the New Testament. So we are silent in this topic by not using it)  – Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16.

To Become a Christian

People who became Christians in the New Testament believed in Jesus and his teachings, repented of their sins, confessed Jesus as Lord and were baptized into Jesus. This is the original and the only way to become a Christian which is documented in the bible and established through the apostles in 1st century AD. To inherit the eternity in heaven, a Christian must live in truth until death. Once saved “is not” always saved.

Steps for Salvation

  • Hear
Romans 10:17So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
  • Believe
Hebrews 11:6But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
  • Repent
Acts 2:38 – Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Luke 13:3 – I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
  • Confess
Romans 10: 9-10 – that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
  • Be Baptized
Mark 16:15-16  – And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
Acts 2:38Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
  • Live Faithfully
Romans 6:4Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in newness of life.
Revelation 2:10Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.
Titus 2:11-14For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
Romans 12:1-2Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
2 Peter 1:5-11Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins. Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.

“All the Churches of Christ greets you”
Romans 16:16
